Westfield Productions was formed in 1938 in Southampton and was set up as a variety
company for local people to show off their talents! Today it is a successful company who
has always stuck to its local roots and has a current membership of about 60 people ranging
from 4yrs to 70yrs.
Every year we perform a pantomime at The Point theatre in Eastleigh. For our millennium
pantomime we performed "Old Father Time". This was written by one of Westfield's own members Doreen
Moger who is a published script writer! Doreen's scripts are currently published through Jasper
Publications. More recently in January 2007 we performed the magical
tale of Cinderella directed by
brothers Mark & Robert Lock. This production was a chance for them
to go back to their roots having written and directed a version of
this classic tale with a modern twist back in 2001 titled
"Cinders".
During May Westfield perform there summer variety show these come in many shapes and sizes. From
country to disco, from Gershwin To Porter. For Summer 2006 Westfield took the audience on a
new journey developing two strands of production, a Cabaret by our
adult members and a short musical play for our younger members. This
summer these were Cabaret 2-007 with a bond twist and our younger
members stared in their very own pantomime - Aladdin!
